Tuticorin: A 22-year-old young man who worked as a supervisor in a road laying project in the city of Tuticorin was destroyed to death when the 20-foot metal container was shifted by Crane to fall on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kamatchinathan, 22, from Kumarapuram.
The accident took place at Jayaraj Road.
Kamatchinathan and Joel of Therespuram oversee the shift of containers.
Ali Badhusha, 35, from PSP Nagar operates a crane.
Crane accidentally touched the LiveWire overhead, causing a spark.
Crane operators lost control of the vehicle, producing a landing container on the road, leaving Joel injured and Kamatchinathan die in place.
Fire service personnel and rescue took Kamatatchinathan’s body.
It was sent to the thooothukudi medical and college hospital for autopsy.
Joel underwent treatment at the same hospital.
Middle police thoothukudi registered a case.
This is the third death in a week of a worker engaged to work by Tuticorin Corporation.
