City: A 68-year-old shopkeeper was seriously injured after he was attacked by a man with a shovel to objected to throwing garbage on the road in front of his grocery store in Rajgarh Village in Samod Morning on Sunday morning.
The shopkeeper surrendered to a head injury during treatment at the MBS Hospital.
The police held the defendant and surrendered the body to family members after post-Mortem on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Padam Kumar Jain, a resident of Rajgarh Village under the Sangod Police Station.
A fight had occurred between Jain and accused Sohanlal Mali alias Bhuriya from the same village after Jain objected to throwing garbage by Mali on the road in front of her shop, said Sangod Sho Soni.
Anger over the objection, Saherlal reached Jain’s shop and hit his head with a shovel, he added.
The police have submitted a case against Mali below the 307 IPC section but followed Jain’s death during treatment on Sunday night, part 302 IPC was included in this case, said Sho Soni.
