Mangaluru: In an effort to encourage people from Dakshina Kannada District to join the police, Mangaluru City Police will launch workshops throughout the month for candidates.
Registration from tomorrow registration will begin at the City Police Commissioner office from Monday.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that even though Komisaria was formed about a decade ago, during the recruitment process, less than 10% of candidates were chosen from the Dakshina Kannada district to the district or city police.
Therefore, to encourage more people from the region to join strength, the 30-day accident course will be arranged for 100 candidates.
In-house experts have been selected as resource persons.
This course will help the candidates prepare well during the recruitment drive.
The candidates are expected to produce a physical test certificate they have cleaneded earlier during police sub-inspectors or police police elections.
Food, still must be taken care of the department will arrange food, while, St Aloysius College will provide hostel facilities, classrooms and libraries.
Separate stay arrangements have been made for prospective men and women.
This course will be held from 8am to 8pm every day.
This is a free course, and the first preference is for people from Dakshina Kannada District, and if there is an empty seat, people from other districts will be considered.
Next, if the transverse registration is 100, the entrance test will be held.
This is an effort to ensure that more locals are appointed in the police, Shashi Kumar said.
