Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) at the Head Office of Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka launched an online portal to allow citizens to make self-payment of property taxes, check property details and pay taxes.
The portal www.mccpropertytax.in was launched by MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, Dr.
Bharath Shetty, Mayor Premalanda Shetty and Commissioner MCC Akshy Sridhar on Monday.
Premalanda Shetty said that the payment of self-declaration property tax has been practiced since April 1, 2008.
Taxpayers have paid taxes through various forms issued by MCC in various banks and service centers.
For public comfort, online portals have been launched which will meet payment of online taxes and also to verify the details of the property and payment.
Citizens pay taxes through online services will receive complete information about previous payments along with payments that are delayed and upcoming.
The portal has been updated with all property categories including housing, commercial and non-commercial buildings throughout the MCC limit.
The total tax payment and other details will be displayed according to the Wise Ward building number.
The calculation is fully computerized, without leaving the scope for errors in the number of bills.
This will provide easy access to residents.
The public can contact their respective zone commissioners or tax officers for more information about online tax payment services, said Mayor.
Meanwhile, the tender process for property surveys has been completed and the works will begin soon.
Steps that must be followed in a hunchate, register at www.mccpropertytax.in with 10 digits of your mobile number and insert the OTP that will be sent there.
Check whether your property has undergone land conversion.
In terms of land conversion, enter the property details provided against road expansion.
Check the building number, Khata number, property ID, address of the owner and enter other significant information if the tenant is on your property, enter the details they choose the road where your property stands up and select your property type, commercial, residential or non-commercial.
Enter the accurate details of the property and building area, and enter all the other required details.
Re-check information about buildings and floors while also verifying the amount of tax payment.
Use NET Banking, Debit Card, Google Pay, Phoneeep, Bank Transfer to Start Payment.
Taxes can be paid offline after collecting Challan and heading to any bank.
