Mangaluru police will observe the day for women’s safety

Mangaluru: City police will dedicate a day for women’s safety and protection through an emergency response support system (ESS) 112 from 8am to 5pm on Saturday.
It is also an effort to popularize the members and reach the community, especially women.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that nearly 100 PSI police teams and the above ranks will be available to overcome various problems, including student problems, ridicule, family problems, harassment in cyber places, threats, and so on.
Each team will have a female or staff officer and confidentiality will be maintained.
City police have around 19 vehicles dedicated to ers, with an average response time of 15 minutes.
The response time in the city limits is around five minutes.
On each call received at the ESS-112, officers including Commissioners, DCP, ACP or police inspectors will be present in the Vehicle ESS and will attend this problem.
The team will be on standby, if the number of calls increases very.
About 25 meetings in residential areas for creating awareness will be held, Shashi Kumar said.
ESS-112 was launched in December last year.
