Mangaluru: One day one of the general entrance tests (CET) for various courses, including techniques, held without interruption on Saturday.
The first paper, biology, saw as many as 2,799 absent, of a total of 8,655 registered.
Mathematical papers were tried by 7,673 candidates, and 981 absent from 8,654 registered.
There were no candidates with Covid-19 who appeared for the exam at Dakshina Kannada.
A total of 8,736 candidates have registered for entrance tests in the district, which are held at 19 centers.
On Sundays, chemistry and CET physics will be held.
CET will be made for students from Kerala on Monday, and 576 students tend to appear for tests to be held in two centers in the city.
Students from Kerala must produce RT-PCR negative reports.
In the udupi district, 256 candidates are not there for cet mathematics, and 1,456 for biology, out of a total of 3,597 candidates who have registered.

Because Neet is scheduled in two weeks, many students do not appear for CET Biology paper.
Also, because of delays, some students have received entrance tickets for other courses.
For example, a student who signed up for CET but did not appear for that, said, “Because of the delay in conducting CET, I have applied for pharmaceutical courses in private universities, which do not require a CET score.” Mathematical papers are middle difficulty, said students.
