Bokaro: The police on Saturday foiled the trap seen by Maois who was allegedly where rebels planted fake Ied and the real one under two culvises near the school in the village of Gormera under Potso Palchayat in the Potso Poline area here.
Motion SDO Satish Chandra Jha said fake Ied was found under the culverts near the original school while the 5kg bomb, recovered from the second culverts located about 100 meters from the first.
Gormera Village, where Ied was found, located close to the Giridih district.
Both culvises were built on the road connecting Nawadih, Dumri and Vishnugarh.
Police often use routes during their search operations against Maois.
This is probably the first time that Maois has planted fake Ied under one culverts along with the original.
Sdpo said the rebels might try to cheat the police but failed.
The police tame the actual Ied in place, he said.
Jha further says Ied that actually has an installed cable, which indicates that it is active.
The fake contains sand inside cans and cables tied around it to look real.
“It will be known only after the investigation of whether the planting of the IED is a conspiracy by Naxalit to endanger the police or the work of naughty elements,” he added.
The report said Maois, who was active in the Parasnath area and the uparhat-nawadih area, loss of land for the past few years and to rebuild their presence, they tried to target security personnel by establishing landmines or IEDs.
