Vadodara: The opposition Congress Party at Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has slammed the use of the city bus and the official mayor’s car to travel to Kevadiya Colony for the BJP State Executive Meeting.
Recently it was revealed that the city bus operator had sent 17 buses for the event at Kevadiya Colony.
Also, the Mayor Keyur Rokadiya has used a car to travel to the meeting.
Some other party members also travel with him.
The leader of the Congress Party in VMC, Ami Ravat, raised the problem in a letter to the Rokadiya.
He said that the bus operator said openly in a statement that he would not charge for the bus he gave to the BJP program.
He said that taking such assistance from contractors amounted to corruption.
Ravat also accused that there was a series of irregularities in city bus operations as well.
Ravat had previously denied the position of opposition leader in VMC on the grounds that Congress did not have sufficient quantities.
He also denied the use of cars previously intended for opposition leaders.
Ravat said that the cars given to Deputy Mayor, Chair of the Committee, the ruling party leader and BJP whip head in VMC also violated the rules and had to be withdrawn.
