Rajkot: MBBS last year a student of a college in Maharashtra and his father was ordered by Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) of Rajkot City Police for allegedly deceiving a businessman based in the city.
Both of them took Rs 20.50 lakh from the victim promising to secure the management quota medical chair for his daughter.
Manwar Shailesh, a complainant, 50 years has a factory in the Shapar-Veraval industrial area on the outskirts of Rajkot.
Acting on complaints, the police had ordered Jay Govani and his father Gopal under various parts of Indian Criminal Code including 420 (cheating and dishonestly encouraged property) and 406 (criminal violations of trust), among others.
“Starting from May 2018, the defendant was suspected of taking RS 20.50 lakh from Manwar promising to secure a medical chair for his daughter.
