Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has planned to recover all major rajakalues (stormwater waterways) in the city with the state government sanctions RS 65 Crore.
City Corporation has been looking for technical reports from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) to develop eight large rajakalu in the city.
This report will have suggestions for recovering rajakaluves scientifically, so that the city does not witness artificial floods again in the future, the Mayor of Premanand Shetty told TII.
“Nitk has been asked to conduct a survey and submit a report with suggestions to restore stormwater water channels in the city.
Experts from the Institute will provide a guide to develop rajakaluves in a scientific way, so that water will flow towards the sea through gravity.
