Mangaluru: After completing all the preparations, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has decided to hold a demonstration of the new property tax payment system.
MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar told TII that demonstrations would be held to examine and iron technical disorders in the online property tax payment software, as part of the trial and error on Monday.
City Corporation will be able to launch the Payment System for the Self-Self Property System (SAS) immediately after correcting all the initial problems, the commissioner said.
“We are in the process of combining software with the support of bank carnataka, to facilitate online payment options,” he said.
SAS tax calculation depends on the value of the basic guidance of the property, which has been previously determined by the PKS, based on the type of road, area, and property.
The property owner can send property details, including the number of floors, areas and tenant details.
Meanwhile, the MCC software will calculate property taxes that must be paid by the owner, he added.
The Mayor of Premanand Shetty said that the process of introducing the system was in the final stage.
“New software will have the option for property owners to see the details of their property.
People can enter the Property Tax Payment section, by clicking the link on the MCC website.
They can search their property by entering the environmental name and door number.
After accessing Property details, people can produce Challan to pay taxes online, “he said.
“At present, there are nearly 2.5 lakh properties in the city.
The new system will not only make the property tax payment convenient for residents, but also help the MCC to achieve a long delayed goal to change the city company to a paper without paper.
City Corporation has launched Online facilities to pay water bills and trade license fees for fresh applications and updates, “said Mayor.
