MySuru: MySuru City Corporation has decided to bring all the properties built illegally on the land of income into its tax structure by issuing B Khatas to the property holder.
PKS, which collects around RS 160 Crore in taxes, can collect RS 30 Crore to RS 60 Crore more after 50,000 of these properties are caused by taxation.
Additional funds will help MCC in funding development work.

Although the city of Civic City has ensured all the basic facilities including street lights, roads, the ER, MCC cannot collect maintenance, water CESS, the development costs of these residents because these properties are built on the layout of income.
PKS has collected property and other taxes only from owners who have all documents issued by competent authorities from the Khatas government and maintain separate B registrars.
MCC has followed the footsteps of the BBMP.
Khata is a property ownership document, based on which tax is calculated.
This includes location, property size, owner name, built-up area and detail.
With city expansion, illegal construction must be carried under the jurisdiction of the civil body.
Therefore, a separate list will be maintained to collect taxes from the property and this will be under Properties B Khata.b Khata property owner cannot obtain a bank loan, said the source.
Removing B KHATAS not only helps MCC increases its financial resources, but also helps the layout of income to ensure all facilities for development, said the former Mayor and Corporator Arif Hussein.Speaking to Toi, Commissioner MCC Laxmikanth Reddy said that the official delegation and a few canporators, Led by Deputy Mayor of Anwar Baig, visited BBMP to study the B Khata system property like that after discussion with all selected members.
