Vadodara: Kanji Mokariya, Managing Director of the Courier Company, who was arrested for allegedly helping Rape-defendant Raju Bhatt to escape has sought guarantees from the session court.
Mokariya, who is currently in Judicial custody, has sought guarantees on the grounds that he did not have a role to play in the alleged rape and he was wrongly dragged in the case of the police.
Mokariya has also stated in the application guarantee that he is ready to comply with any court conditions if left guarantee.
His request will be taken to hear on Tuesday and the investigative officer is likely to submit a written statement that opposes the guarantee application.
Mokariya was arrested before Bhatt, former trustee Pavagadh, was arrested from Junagadh.
The police accused Mokariya to help Bhatt to escape after rape cases were registered against the latest accountant and rented Ashok Jain by a law student.
He was also accused of providing RS 75,000 in cash to Bhatt before he escaped from the city.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that the suspected survivors have lived in a hotel near the train station, where Mokariya is a partner, during locking.
