Chennai: Railroad Board Members for Infrastructure and Traction and Stock Sanjeev Mittal visited Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai on Wednesday and checked the coach’s production, especially the prototype coach for Train 18 or Vande Bharat Express.
The ICF aims to complete the Rake Prototype at the beginning of 2022-23 years of finance and to start producing four to five train salaries set from September 2022.
The factory produces 2,136 coaches so far this year.
They included 162 coaches for export (136 main coaches and 26 Demu air-conditioned to Sri Lanka Railways).
Mittal praised the ICF to maintain a fairly high production level despite pandemic restrictions and obstacles in the supply of materials.
He also appreciated the efforts taken by the factory in turning off the new prototype of Vande Bharat Express and convincing assistance from the train board.
