Mangaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has improved the 50 lakh target for membership registration on March 31, the President of the State Party of DK Shivakumar.
“After 75 years of independence, this country was in trouble.
There is a need to rebuild the state.
This country needs a congress and people demanding change.
Based on the guidance of President AICC Sonia Gandhi, we have launched a membership drive until March 31,” Shivakumar said here on Monday.
This party has appointed the head of registrants and collectors in each outlet, he said.
Drive is being carried out after 12 years.
“Registrants will make door-to-door visits and distribute pamphlets.
Those who agree to the principles and leadership of the Congress can join the party by paying RS 5.
Those who want to get an ID card must pay Rs 10,” he said.
Those who get voting rights at the party.
The drive of membership will also help the party get opinions about prospective tickets, he said.
