Satara: In a strange incident, a man at Maharashtra Satara burned his house after a big fight with his wife and finally burned around 10 houses in the nearest neighborhood, the police said on Tuesday.
The incident in Majgaon Village took place on Monday night when Sanjay Patil and his wife Pallavi had a fight for some domestic differences, said the Investigation officer of the Malharpeth Uttam Bhapkar Police Station.
In a boiling match, Patil suddenly went to the kitchen, lit a fire, and began to burn his house as his wife screamed help.
Within minutes, the gas cylinder in the kitchen was filled with flame and exploded, and the fire spread to the houses, built close to each other around it.
Neighbors who panicked succeeded in issuing partners who fought and also evacuated their own homes, without victims reported.
Even though they tried their best to put out fires, their residence was completely reduced to ashes early this morning.
“According to the local villagers, around 9-10 houses were fully broken hearted, and others were damaged, all really worth around Rs 50 Lakh,” said Bhapkar to IANS.
The villagers who were angry, made the homeless people at the beginning of winter, were caught and struggling before handing it to the police who arrested him, while his wife had been sheltered with a relatively close family, the local residents said.
Patil was produced in front of the court at Satara who sent it to police custody for two days and the probe into the reason big fights, intention behind burning at home, etc., said Bhapkar.
