Kalyan: In a strange case, a young man appeared at the Public Vaccination Center in Dombivli on Thursday to allegedly taking a Covid-19 shot, but running before he could be inoculated.
After registering for the vaccine, the young man, was identified as Rishikesh, told officials at the center set at Nehru Garden in Dombivli (e) that he wanted to use a small room, but then escaped.
A video from security guards and health staff workers who tried to stop the man into a viral on social media.
The team warned senior health officials who had decided to trace more and advise him about getting a second shot.
Gather Ganesh Dohiphode, responsible for the Corporate Vaccination Program Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal, said, “We have instructed our health staff to track youth and give him the second dose of the Covid vaccine.” The second shot coverage appeared as a point of concern, with the number of people who had not taken second jab after completing the specified interval between two doses, crossing Crore in Maharashtra.
The country has so far provided one shot to 87% of the population that qualified but full vaccination coverage is around 55%.
In Mumbai, more than seven lakh people have not taken a second shot, while the appropriate number in the Kalyan-Dombivli area is 31,000.
