Thiruvananthapuram: Police at the Aryancode Police Station at the rural district limit received a rough surprise on Tuesday when two men were transmitted by bicycle throwing a gas station at the police station at the police station.
Although there were no victims reported in the attack, a police vehicle parked at the location of the station suffered damage.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 11am on Tuesday.
The police have restored visuals from the supervisory camera installed at the station and identified the suspect.
Hunting has been launched to arrest the attackers.
In visual, two young men riding a motorycle can be seen throwing two gasoline bombs, made of bottles of beer, at the station.
While one of them landed on the ground, the other crashed into the windshield of one of two official vehicles parked at the station.
The inspector officer of the AryaKode P Sreekumaran Nair station said that they suspected the attack to be retaliation in a series of police attacks conducted during the night intervention between Monday and Tuesday to arrest people suspected of stabbing and injuring secondary students who were higher at Kemambrah Monday.
“The suspect in this case is a known drug and Peddler marijuana and he allegedly stabbed the 19-year-old student on his arm,” Inspector said, adding that the identity of the suspect could not be disclosed before the arrest.
He said that it was a personal competition which resulted in attacks and police launched his search.
The police search team visited his house, but he escaped.
Therefore the police conducted a raid at the residence of his close friends too.
This action may have provoked him and his friends to launch an attack on the police, the inspector said.
