Vadodara: A man who lives in Chhani was arrested on Wednesday which was suspected of torturing him and squeezing him to cut his skin using a knife.
The police said that the defendant Selvyn Parmar met his wife to live near his house through his sister Shweta.
He lured him into a relationship and then began to harass him.
The female father told the police that Parmar used to send a rough message to him and extort him by threatening to share his personal photos on social media.
Because of the threat, the woman used to cut her skin and sent a photo to Parmar whenever she asked.
In September 2019, the woman married Parmar under the Indian Christian marriage law in Anand and began living with him.
At Parmar’s house, he, his sister Shweta and Pastor Paul used to attack and harass him, the female father told the police.
The female father further added that to throw his daughter from meeting his parents, Parmar and his family members bought another apartment and did not let him leave home.
The woman’s father approached her Vadodara police team when she learned about the torment she had passed in Parmar’s house.
But during counseling, the woman did not talk to Parmar or someone else for fear.
“The female father gave complaints together with scrambling scratches and extortion messages which were violations of criminal intimidation, attacks and the action was registered,” said a police officer.
Parmar was detained on Wednesday and would be arrested after the Covid test report arrived.
