Mangaluru: A 62-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday to shrink 18 places of worship in the city.
The defendant Devdas Desai, came from Unkal in Hubballi and lived in Kotekar, arrested based on CCTV recordings obtained after the Koragajja Temple in Marnamampta was found to be lowered on Tuesday, said Police Commissioner City Mangaluru N Shashi Kumar.
Koragajja is a respected demigod in Tulunadu.
The allegedly allegedly wrapped around a condom in a paper, tied it with a black thread and put it in the temple.
While questioning he claimed to tarnish 18 places of worship, where five cases were registered throughout the year.
