Pune: Police Kothrud on Monday registered a negligence case against the Metro Rail Pune work contractor after a 64-year-old guard of a private security agent who surrendered on a serious injury he had suffered after the iron barricade to the protective transit quickly the system fell to him at Vanaz at 9 September.
Mahametro, who carried out the Metro project at Pune, has installed iron barricades on both sides of the road and near the road divider (wherever the work is active).
Barricade is close to the trail where the incident occurred.
This is a fifth accident (see chart) in more than two years related to Metro work.
Police said the victim Maruti Laxman Navaskar, a citizen Kothrud, was waiting for the staff bus in Vanz, because he wanted to go to the company in the pirangut where he worked as a security guard.
“He stood close to heavy iron barricades, which was not properly tied and happened to him around 7 in the morning on September 9.
He died on October 9 while under medical attention at a private hospital in PAUD Road,” said the Assistant Inspector of Kisan Rathod from the Police Kothrud.
The son of Navaskar, Mayur (28), filed a complaint and the police confiscated a barricade.
When contacted, Mayur said, “We found out about the incident when the Metro workers came to our house around 9am on September 9.
They took us to the hospital where I tried to interact with my father.
He has experienced some fractures with his legs And there are four fractures on their skull.
Metro authorities pay hospital bills, but so far are silent on compensation issues.
“Mahametro Public Relations officer Hemant Sonawan said,” Demand will be made to improve responsibility for accidents and the right actions will be taken.
