Kolkata: Before providing a certificate without objections (NOC) for the proposed Victoria Metro Station, the authorities of the Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH) have continued the alignment of the Joka-Esplanade corridor to the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) in Rookee, Iit-Kharagpur and Jadavpur.

NOC is sought after by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), the Joka-Esplanade Metro Project Executing Agency 14.3 km – 5.6km which from Mominpur to the Esplanade will be underground.
Five underground stations – Mominpur, Kidderpore, Victoria Memorial, Park Street and Esplanade – will appear along this stretch.
The site chosen for the proposed Victoria Memorial Station is outside Queensway Jayanta Sengupta, Curator, VMH, told TOI: “Because the VMH Supervisory Board does not have technical knowledge about how underground tunneling will affect Victoria’s opinion, he has been seeking CBRI’s opinion, which It is a major national organization about building-related engineering issues, IIT-Kharagpur and Ju.
NOC will be given on the basis of technical observations from experts.
