New Delhi: The Union Government has scaled the cover of armed security from the central paramilitary command which was given to Babul Supriyo who left BJP and joined the Trinamool Congress on Saturday, the official source said.
The cover has been reduced from the second highest Z category to the Y category, after the order was issued by the Union Ministry on Friday.
The security cover provided to VVIPS and high-risk personalities under the central scheme, range from the highest Z + followed by the Z, Y +, Y and X category.
In decreasing the security category Supriyo, the sources say that recommendations in this context are made by the institution Central security and intelligence.
Supriyo (50), fell as a minister from the Narendra Modi Cabinet in July, was being guarded by armed contingents from the central reserve police force (CRPF).
Of about six seven commands, Supriyo will now be guarded by two armed personnel during the trip.
The source shows more reviews about the cover cannot be ruled out, and its security work can be fully entrusted to West Bengal police because he is now joining the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Supriyo, after joining the ruling party in West Bengal, told the media that he was very excited to join TMC, led by the Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee, and that he would work for the development of the country.
