Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Rajan’s income has emphasized the importance of disaster management literacy for the people.
Speaking at the two-day workshop organized by the State Disaster Management Authority in disaster mitigation based on diversity here on Tuesday, the minister said that disasters due to natural disasters could be controlled to a certain extent even though there was no control over natural disasters.
“Disaster mitigation activities must be carried out scientifically.
People must be made aware of the possibility of disaster events and how to reduce the disaster,” he said.
He said that SDMA was a training department involved in disaster mitigation activities based on the awareness that interventions must be made to integrate the scheme in accordance with the land and the Kerala environment with disaster mitigation plans from various departments.
The two-day workshop was designed in such a way that the model was successfully implemented globally and that could be carried out practically in Kerala being introduced.
In addition, steps to ensure ecological conservation is being debated.
Commissioner of Tanah K Biju, Former Principal Principal Secretary of Valsala Kumari, Science and Technology Main Secretary K Pudheer, Commissioner Joint Land Revenue Jeromie George, Senior Financial Officer KSDMA Aji Francis spoke on the occasion.
G Pradeep, Pratheesh C Mammen, Vinod Kumar led the class in a two-day workshop.
