Thiruvananthapuram: Sports, WAQF and Minister of pilgrim Haji V Abdurahiman will travel to the United States for 20 days for medical reasons.
The government has cleared its journey where all the burden will be borne by the state government.
The Minister will go for the US on December 26, for health checks and further care at the Johns Hopkins Street Center, in Baltimore in Maryland.
However, the order that gave his travel sanctions stated that the trip would submit to permission from the relevant ministry at the center.
This problem has been informed to the Ministry of External and Ministry of Finance.
If cleaned, this will be the first example of a minister from the Cabinet of State which will travel abroad in the second LDF government led by Pinarayi Vijayan.
Travel abroad by ministers has approached January 2020, since Covid-19 has hit the world.
A total of 17 ministers at the LDF Cabinet had previously traveled around 27 countries around the world in official and private capacity from August 2016 to December 2019, where the minister’s chairman had occupied 14 trips.
One of his ways to the US then is for medical purposes while one is a personal visit to the UAE.
The 12 remaining trips are official.
KadakamPally Surendran, Minister of Tourism and Devaswom in the first LDF LED Pinarayi Vijayan cabinet, has carried out 13 trips abroad.
During the last LDF government’s work period, the country where the ministers traveled the most often was the UAE (28 visits), followed by the US (12 visits) and England (nine visits).
As many as Rs 53.68,888 were replaced by the government to ministers for their journey during the last government, the biggest replacement was made for KadakamPally (RS 14,65,872) followed by the minister’s chairman (Rs 9,65,216).
