Aizawl: Mizoram continues to contribute the highest number of Covid-19 cases among eight northeastern states.
It was reported 70.02% of the total cases in the region in the last 24 hours, even when everyday cases have declined.
The number of new cases dipped below 1,000 on Thursday and Friday, but the state contributed 71.88% of the total active case in the region on Saturday.
New cases recorded in the state on Thursday and Friday are 901 and 932, with the daily testing level of 12.97% and 13.70% respectively.
Mizoram ranks fourth in this country because it has the highest incident of Covid-19 cases, next to Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
It continued to record the number of new daily cases of 54 consecutive days.
Meanwhile, the state government continues to force partial locking in the capital, the city of Aizawl, and other district headquarters from Sunday to 30 October.
While the church is permitted to have services on Sundays and Sabbath (Saturday) with a capacity of 50%, no service is allowed at night with the imposition of hours at Aizawl and district headquarters.
