Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 54th Conpection of the Canpur Institute of Indian Technology (IIT) as a major guest on December 28.
The ceremony, which will be held in hybrid mode, will also be attended by Governor Uttar Pradesh, Patel Anandiben, education of the Union Minister, Development of Skills and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chair of the Minister of Yogi Adityanath as a guest of honor.
The ceremony will be led by Dr.
K Radhakrishnan, Chair, Board of Governors, Iit-Kanpur.
Before his visit, the Prime Minister Modi had asked students to share their advice on his address at the meeting, through a tweet.
“I hope to be in @Infur on the 28th of this month to overcome the convocation ceremony.
This is a vibrant institution, which has made a pioneer contribution to science and innovation.
I invite everyone to share advice,” PM tweeted.
Director, Iit-Kanpur, Professor Abhay Karandikar said, “Last year had been significant for Iit-Kanpur because it showed a grit that launched several initiatives to save lives for the nation and showed off research and extraordinary research and innovation sector.

“A total of 1,723 students will receive their degrees consisting of 183 PhD degree; 11 MTech-PhD Joint Degree, 545 Postgraduate Degree (388 MTech; 50 MBA; 15 MDES; 56 MS-by Research; 36 PGPEX-VLFM); 136 Double Degrees, 157 MSc (2 years); 27 Double Major and 664 Bachelor Degrees (560 BTECH; 104 BS (4 years)).
In addition, 233 underage children will be given to that occasion.
Overall, 80 gifts and medals will be given to students with contributing and 21 students will be awarded an extraordinary PHD thesis award.
PM will also launch a Blockchain-based digital title that can be verified globally and cannot be abolished on that occasion.
