Gurgaon: With this year’s rainy season in Bay, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) prepares to do repair work on the main roads throughout the city, with those first in the list including the main stretch of newly developed sectors.
According to officials, among the streets that have been registered for improvement are the main road sector 81 to 95, where annual maintenance work will be carried out in the coming weeks.
The work, officials said, will involve patchy along with stretches in areas that are not scheduled for special improvements.
While special improvements are intended for stretches which are in poor condition and need to strengthen, annual improvements are intended for stretches that can manage for one more year with patchwork.
The planned work for the main road sector 81 to 95 is expected to cost Rs 2.71 Crore.
At present, GMDA has invited online offers for this project and look for contractors who can improve stretch and also maintain it for 12 months.
“Patchwork will be carried out along the main road in areas that are not part of a special repair or strengthening,” said Major Shaveta Sharma, Executive Engineer, the distribution of GMDA infrastructure.
In addition, the authority has floated tenders who are looking for online offers for special improvements from the main road that divides sectors 112 and sector 114.
