Mangaluru: Around five accused of being ordered for allegedly attacking a 19-year-old young man from Raichur, who came to Putture to meet a friend from a different religion.
The police said that about six months ago, the boy contacted a girl from a different faith from Putture, on the social networking platform, and then relating to it through phone calls and messages.
A week ago, the girl invited her to Putture.
He traveled on the bus from Raichur, along with another friend, and arrived at Mangaluru at 7.30 a night on Tuesday.
At 10:15 a.m.
on Wednesday, he went to meet the girl in the KSRTC bus holder in Putture.
He had arrived with his friend, and four of them, two boys and two girls, chatted while sitting in a chair in the bus holder, when five defendants asked their names, and objected to the boy talking to a different religious girl, on at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
The defendant was between 25-28, and allegedly threatened and attacked the young man from Raichur.
The complainant claimed that he could not follow the language that was talking.
The Putture City Police had ordered the defendant under the IPC of the riots, assembly that violated the law, wrong restraint, criminal intimidation and to voluntarily cause injury.
