Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Corporation has closed public places such as parks, running lines on racing and casual places developed at Waterbodies such as Valankulamp and Ukkadam Piyakulam as a precaution to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara said all parks including VOC Park, zoos, race courses will be temporarily closed from Saturday and further orders.
In its part, the district government states that all tourist attractions including parks will be closed to the public from Saturday and so on.
Likewise, the temples in the district will also be closed for worshipers.
G SS SSEANAN District collector said, “Covid-19 cases increased in Coimbatore Regency.
We have asked citizens to strictly follow the corresponding behavior of Covid and avoid public meetings during the Pongal vacation.
Celebrate Pongal with the close and loved ones at home.”
