Trichy: Round 15 Drive Mass Vaccination in Trichy City sees a moderate response with only more than 18,000 people who are vaccinated in 200 camps held on Saturday.
In rural areas, camps are organized in 300 locations.
In the tribal hamlet where people returned home after working at night, health workers made vaccinations on the doorstep during curfew.
The maximum number of people is vaccinated in the Abishekapuram zone in the city.
The vaccination zone is 5,028 people, followed by the PONMAIAI zone (4,963).
Zone Srirangam and Ariyamangalam vaccinated 4,447 and 4,193 people.
Trichy Corporation said that phone calls were made by the Civic Agency to remind part of people who missed the second dose they had helped them increase coverage.
While leading vaccination centers such as Makkal Mandram at the Thillai Nagar School and the corporation in Senthaneerpuram produce a good response, centers such as AlanganWadis and water tanks record a low picture.
The source said that nursing students who support vaccination drive so far are not available on Saturdays.
Meanwhile, Civic’s body officials said that strict enforcement in commercial areas could encourage a response to vaccination camps in the coming days.
In the Pachamalai hilly area, the rural health team camped in the hamlet in Sengattupatti village which was vaccinated by agricultural officers on Friday.
A total of 16 interior hamlets in Pachamalai have 90% vaccination coverage with at least one dose.
