New Delhi: The application of more than 7,000 Pakistani citizens for Indian citizenship is waiting with the government on December 14, 2021 generating almost 70% of the total 10,635 applications delayed in the last five years, the Minister of State for Nityanand Rai told the parliament Wednesday.
The second highest pending application for Indian citizenship is from Afghanistan at 1.152, followed by 428 from stateless, 223 from Sri Lanka and the United States, 189 from Nepal and 161 of Bangladesh.
10 people from China have also proposed Indian citizenship.
