Gurgaon: MCG has so far only spent only Rs 620 Crore from the RS 2,538,3-Crore budget for Fiscal 2020-21, which is only 24%.
And only three and a half months left before the start of the next financial year when the Civic body will present a new budget for city development work.
According to official figures available with TOI, corporations only spend 7% of the budget allocated for environmental work so far.
Allocation for this fiscal environment is Rs 117 Crore, however, so far only spends Rs 9 Crore.
Similarly, RS 184 Crore allocated for roads and bridges, it only spends Rs 40 Crore.
RS 250 Crore is intended for health and sanitation, only RS 130 Crore has been used until now.
MCG has also allocated RS 100 Crore under “Development in the Personal Colonies”, however, the corporation does not spend anything on it.
Expenditures RS 620 Crore issued so far includes employee salaries.
MCG is also expected to generate RS 4,899 crore revenues, so far only collected RS 627 Crore.
For harvesting rainwater, MCG has allocated the RS 8 Crore budget, however, the Civic body only spends 68 lakh Rs so far.
From RS 318 Crore allocated for building new buildings such as pharmacies and community centers, he only spent RS 38 Crore so far.
In addition, RS 40 Crore allocated for collection and disposal of construction and disassembly (C & D) waste, only 50% have been used.
Subhash Yadav, Nodal Environmental MCG Official and Sustainability Wing, said, “This fiscal starts with the second wave of Covid-19.
After the second wave settled, the rainy season arrives and construction work cannot be started.
When the rainy season concludes, a multilevel action response plan (grap ) Implemented because any civil work cannot occur, then, the budget allocation cannot be fully utilized.
“MCG officials said that pandemics had had an impact on the main projects of the Civic Agency for the past two years.
“Our main projects where the main pieces of MCG will be spent cannot take off because of the first pan-demik and now the construction activities cannot be done because of the implementation of grap,” said Rohtash Bishnoi, the Indonesian Commissioner MCG.
“On the other hand, large projects such as the new MCG building, parking lots and stadiums face obstacles, because we cannot spend a lot,” he added.
