New Delhi: More than 8.25 Lakh Foreigners arrived in India on a medical visa between 2019 and 2021, and 26,599 foreigners sent after the end of their medical visa period, on January 24, 2022, the Ministry of Home to Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Replying to the question, MOS (Home) Nitanand Rai said 4.10 lakh, 1.42 lakh and 2.72 lakh strangers arrived at each medical visa in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
In original cases, where overstay was not intentional or because of ignorance or in an interesting state, the overstay period is set after charging extended penalty fees and visas if needed if needed.
Where overstay is found intentional or cannot be justified, the right action is taken according to the Act of foreigners in 1946.
