Hyderabad: Some children under the age of one and an overweight child over 10 years in the country are said to have given up on dengue fever.
Critical cases of diseases transmitted through vectors have been reported for the past and a half months.
According to the source, there is one bloody death every day for the past two weeks at the Niloufer Hospital.
“Delays in treatment or hospitalization are proven to be fatal in some cases, because we every day see the death of dengue fever because of dengue myocarditis, dengue shock syndrome and encephalitis, tend to bleed, dengue fever.
In many cases, patients reach more than two days of fever.
It can be very dangerous in the case of severe bloody fever.
We see one to two deaths every day because of dengue fever, “said a doctor at the Niloufer Hospital, the biggest tertiary center for children.
In one example, the 11-year-old Hajeera Sultana from Rajendra Nagar suddenly breathed and vomited while undergoing treatment at a local clinic.
He shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where he gave up on the same day he was moved.
“He was confirmed to have a dengue fever by the clinic and Ogh.
We were told that we took him late and his condition had deteriorated.
His red blood cell is lacking,” said Mohammed Haleemuddin, the girl’s relatives.
In many cases, presentations are delayed such as shortness of breath, bleeding after fever subsides and taking non-supervision drugs leads to further complications.
“This time, we see that dengue fever causes real problems to children under one and above 10 who are overweight.
We have seen deaths in a 10-year-old child with a weight of 55-60 kilos,” said Dr Parag Shankarrao near the clinical director of the pediatric and head of child intensive care at Kims Cuddles.
Dr.
Parag explained that in children under one, the hyper response to this disease leads to the problem of liver, the brain and the kidneys while the fat children more than ten, haemoconcentration (internal dehydration) causes multi-organ failure.
