PUNE: Mercedes-Benz on Tuesday launched its most luxurious and expensive SUV in India.
The GLS Maybach 600 starts from Rs 2.43 crore (ex-showroom, India).
Interestingly, all the 50+ units of the ‘Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC’ have been booked even before the market debut.
The next set of ‘Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC’ will be customised and delivered to customers by Q1 2022.
Apart from being the first Maybach SUV, the GLS Maybach 600 will only be the second Maybach model to be rolled out in the Indian market, following the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
Mercedes claims GLS Maybach offers first-class private jet-like individual rear seats which can be reclined by 43.5 degrees and pushed back by 120 mm.
They also come with electrical adjustment with memory and extending leg rest.
Rear passengers also enjoy multi-contour seats with massage function, wireless charging and MBUX rear tablet.
Additionally, two folding tables at the rear transform the business console of the first-class rear suite into a comfortable work area.
The stowage trays provide space for a notebook or documents.
The refrigerated compartment is incorporated into the rear armrest, which also get the option for interior lighting and mounts for two champagne flutes.
The 3,982-cc engine is aided by a 16kW EQ Boost.
The V8 puts out 557 horsepower and 730 Nm of peak torque.
The EQ boost provides an additional 22 horsepower and 250 Nm.
Mercedes claims 0-100 kmph under 5 seconds and top speed electronically limited at 250 kmph.
The Mercedes-Maybach features the AIRMATIC air suspension with Adaptive Damping System Plus (ADS+) as standard.
E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL acts to optimize driving feel, yet minimizes the motions felt by passengers.
