Palanpur: A 29-year-old woman jumped to Canal Narmada with her four daughters near Dhima Village in Tharad Taluka from Banskantha on Saturday.
Although the locals can save two children, a woman divaliben Parmar and her two daughters Piner (9) and Shobha (9 months) immersed in the water.
Divaliben’s body, Pinalis and Shobha were arrested out of the canal after more than three hours.
The deceased’s body was sent to a civil hospital in VAV for postmortem, however, family members and in-laws wanted postmortem to be done, police sources said.
Polcie said that the deceased belonged to Chothana Seda Village at Vav Taluka from Banskantha.
It adds the reason behind the valbiben extreme steps is not immediately known.
According to eyewitnesses, Valiben had reached the main canal along with his four daughters on Saturday morning.
Before someone could understand anything, he threw the kids to the channel one by one before he jumped.
Some people who swim nearby issued two out of four children, but could not save the others.
