Vadodara: When anger of the rain recently dropped a part of his centurious ancestral home, he did not think twice before deciding to change the remaining parts of the building to the community center.
Pravin Maripelly, a former artist from Ms University and a Yoga fan, changed part of her ancestral home to a library and reading room for those in the state of Telangana.
Maripelly, who is currently pursuing other postgraduate degrees in art in four dimensions of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, almost inaugurated the library on Saturday from the US.
“I’m thinking about what I can do about the house.
That’s when I realized that there was no reading habit in the village, so why not change the structure left into a library and reading room,” Maripelly said.
The back of the house that collapses completely revealed and the front building is renovated.
The interior is changed to make it suitable for the reading room.
Maripelly also drew motivation from American artists Rick Houses Rick Lowe and the Dorchester Gates social art project.
Maripelly then ordered a genre book and subject including literature and fiction, history, culture, economy, spirituality, politics, art, biography, among others in Telugu, Hindi and English.
“There are around 190 books now and the number will continue to increase,” he said.
In the near future, Maripelly also plans to connect libraries globally allow online lectures, workshops, and talks by people from all over the world on various topics.
While Maripelly is abroad, his cousin and former teacher has volunteered to manage the library.
