Pune: ‘Third Bell’ in the drama cinema throughout the state, including Pune, will ring on Friday after almost 11 months.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has completed work to ensure the maintenance of this facility.
Sanitation and cleaning have also been done.
Although the reopening of the theater has come as a relief for the drama industry, 50% of stamp on occupancy is the main problem.
Managers and producers Pravin Barve said locking and restrictions had caused enormous financial losses.
“The image will not change financially if there is a 50% capacity limit.
The manufacturers must live hand-to-mouth until the show is permitted with a full seat,” Barve said.
According to the producer, conducting one cost of RS1.5 Lakh costs and can increase to RS3 Lakh or more depending on various factors such as the number of actors, production costs and travel costs, administrative fees and other costs.
With 50% residential permitted, each show will be able to produce only RS1.25-1.40 lakh.
“The theater audience is very aware of the normal rules.
So, even if the full capacity is allowed, there will be no violations of the rules,” said Actor Prashant Damle.
He then said that by Diwali, the government must allow performances to run at full capacity.
“Along with the actors, even artists behind the stage have suffered because of closure.
The problem of livelihood and insurance they must be taken in priority,” said Sunil Mahajan from Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, an umbrella organization Marathi theater.
Ranjeet Sonawale, a rear stage artist, said the resurrection was good news, but the more performances had to do.
“The life of the artist behind the stage depends on the number of shows.
Payments are given to us per show.
If drama activities are allowed to start with the capacity and full speed, it will bring more help to us,” he said.
According to the backstage artist, they get RS300-500 per performance.
Monthly remuneration ranges from RS20,000-5,000 per month.
Balgandharva Rangmandir Auditorium Manager Sunil Mate said the standard operation will be followed when holding the show.
“We get demands to hold shows.
They include cultural and political events.
Social and other regulatory norms will be followed.
Wearing a mask will be mandatory for the audience,” Mate said.
