Mumbai: Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) Customs on Saturday Arrested by National Zimbabwe who arrived in Mumbai on a medical visa carrying 7 kg of heroin and 1,400 grams of metam worth 60 crore.
The source said accusing Rosie Diasman (40), who suffered from cancer, had arrived in Mumbai for care.
He told Customs officials that the mastermind of the smuggling racket convinced him to carry coverage hidden goods in the fake cavity of his luggage and with rewards promised to pay his medical fees.
He said this was his second visit to India.
Customs officials suspect he might have smuggled drugs on previous occasions too.
Acting at a certain end, AIU officials tapped his sweat arrived from Harare in Zimbabwe on the morning flight.
Officials carry a thorough inspection of his trolves which resulted in the recovery of contraband goods hidden in the fake cavity.
Last year in December, AIU’s habit had arrested two Zimbabwe citizens carrying 35 kg of Heroin worth Rs 240 Crore.
Officials said that because Zimbabwe rusted poverty mainly depends on mining and agriculture, it is easy to syndicate the drug to find people who want to work on small drugs.
Diarman was arrested under narcotics law and psychotropic substances (NDPS).
Officials said he was produced before the local court sent to justice custody until Monday.
