Coimbatore: Sleuth of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Chennai raided a house in Arun Nagar 3rd Street in Vadavalli here on Saturday in connection with the seizure of 2,988kg heroin in Port Mundra Gujarat.
The Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI) has confiscated heroin 2988.21kg worth of rs 15,000 crore from the port of Mundra, which was disguised as a consignment of semi-processed baling stones from Afghanistan.Dri registered a case below Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy) from the Indian criminal code, Section 8 (C), 23 Narcotics and Substance Substance ACT, 1985, Section 17 and 18 Act Activities Direct (Prevention), 1967 Against Machavaram Sudhakaran and Durga PV Govindaraju from Chennai, P Rajkumar, 56, from Vadavalli in Coimbatore and Five foreign nationals, and arrest them.
Meanwhile, Nia took over the case from DRI on October 6 and registered FIR.
The Nia team from Chennai visited the House of Motherela 74 years of Rajkumar in Vadavalli and grabbed the laptop and cellphone from there.
