Museo Camera, Apple helps students learn cellular photography skills

Smartphones have changed the way people do photography and age of course not a bar again.
To encourage cellular photography, the Museo Camera, a Gurgaon-based museum dedicated to the camera, workshops with poor school children.
Students – aged between 9-15 years – all gave the iPhone 12 to get around neighboring villages in Gurugram.
Workshop – Entitled Art Story – Involving Children from a Lack of Background from neighboring Gurugram villages, Chakkarpur, Jharsa, Wazirabad, Nathupur and a Rajasthani village in Mandawa.
Children are given a combination of theories and practical lessons on cellular photography and encouraged to develop their own photography style.
Children are encouraged not only to take pictures but think of using a cellular camera to tell a story.
Many children are rather hesitant in involving their subjects or convincing them to be photographed.
However, during the workshops students were encouraged to engage with their subjects, to explore and create dialogue with them and to articulate their experiences through images.
The images that are clicked by children – are now exhibited at the Museo Camera – capture worldly life and everyday.
Portrait photography was pushed using iPhone 12 portrait mode.
Pream Ahirwar, from Saksham Pal Wazirabad, Vikas Sanstha, said that he enjoyed the workshop and learned a lot.
Himani Narang, from Gurugram, said that before the workshop, he did not know what exposure or how to control it.
But posting workshops, he learned some better cellular photography points.
Museo’s camera was founded by Aditya Arya a few years ago.
Spread over 18,000 sq.ft space dedicated to art and history of photography, this displays a collection of more than 2,500+ cameras and other photographic equipment originating from the 1850s.
