MySuru: MySuru Zoo on Friday set a special birthday celebration for a gorilla called Nine-year-old Demba.
This is his first birthday celebration in India.
He was taken to Mysuru Zoo along with his brother Thabo (14) on August 2021 from Germany.
The authority of the zoo continued the tradition of celebrating Demba’s birthday on the lines of European zoo authorities.
Executive Director Zoo Mysuru Ajit Kulkarni said MySuru Zoo also celebrated his animal birthday every year.
Each animal guards like elephants serve them special food to mark celebrations.
There will be no change in a diet but the food is presented differently.
Demba is also given fruits and vegetables by keeping them in design.
Meanwhile, Demba’s recording celebrates his birthday fruits into a viral on social media.
Many visitors to zoos who see a glimpse of the cage to an open area where zookepers have arranged watermelons and chopped cucumbers.
MySuru Zoo has received a pair of gorillas (Demba and Thabo) from Germany after a long wait.
The MySuru Zoo is the only facility in India to accommodate gorillas.
Previously, Polo, a gorilla, had entertained Lakh visitors at Mysuru Zoo for more than two decades before he finished the years in 2014.
Since then MySuru Zoo has tried his best to display gorillas and fortunately receive a couple from the zoo from Germany .
