Mysuru: While district authorities have created 800 beds for children, 20 children have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the MySore district in the last two days.
10 cases reported in the city of Mysuru include three children between 5 and 10 years and four children aged between 11 and 17 years.
Apart from Mysuru City, Periyapatna recorded six cases and four cases of cases on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the information provided by the Ministry of Health.
According to some experts, children tend to be affected during the third wave of Covid-19 possible.
Therefore, the authorities have increased testing in the district.
Even children with diseases such as influenza and sari and the main contact are being tested.
On average 8,500 samples are being collected every day in the district.
Meanwhile, district authorities create facilities for children.
About 800 beds including ICU and ventilators have been arranged in Mysuru to overcome every challenge.
Dr Shivaprasad District Supervision Officer said the facilities were being made for children both in urban and rural hospitals to overcome emergencies if there was a covid outbreak.
In MySuru City, the bed has been booked at the Cheluvamba Hospital, District Hospital, and a special super hospital separate from all the taluks that will have a minimum of five oxygen beds.
Overall, 800 beds including 100 oxygen beds, ICU and ventilators have been established, said Dr.
Shivaprasad.
Dr KH Prasad District Health Officer said all children with symptoms of Ili and Sari infections were being tested for Covid.
If there is a main contact, Covid testing is being carried out, he added.
