MySuru: India National Highway Authority (NHAI) has invited a tender for four Mysuru-Madikeri Road Lanings, trying to reduce travel time from Bengaluru to the beautiful Kodagu Regency of at least two hours.
Nhai said the project – after the acquisition and land agreement needed – must be prepared in two years.
The tender was floating for stretching between Mysuru and Kushalanagar as the last link between Kushalanagar and Madikeri had been postponed, Nhai’s source said.
With the 10-laning of mysuru-bengaluru roads that are close to the settlement, the travelers from Bengaluru will have an easy trip to Kodagu in about four hours, providing tourism.
Instead of expanding the existing Mysuru-Kushalanagar road, the Mysuru-Madikeri Economic Economic Expridor Expressway project, because it was officially called, it would be developed on a new route with bypass in Periyapatna, Hunsur, Bicycles and MySuru.
Director of the MySuru-Bengaluru Nhai project, BT Sridhar told TII that the Madikeri project would reduce travel time between Srirangapatna Cross (in the Mandya district) and Kushalanagar for only one hour.
The project, under the PPP model, is expected to be launched in April-May this year.
