ThiruvananThapuram: Ending a long and uncomfortable wait, all Indian Congress Committee on Thursday announced a list of the carriers of the new KPCC office.
The list approved by the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi was announced by the Secretary General of AICC KC Venugopal in Delhi.
There are four vice presidents, 23 General Secretaries and 28 members of the Executive Committee in the list.
As claimed by the Head of KPCC K Sudhakaran, the number of office carriers has been trimmed this time.
There are only four VPS – N Sakshan, V T Balram, V P Sajeendran, V J Paulose – in place 12 in the outgoing committee.
Prathapa Chandran is the new KPCC treasurer.
The number of general secretaries has also been reduced to 23 of 42 in the previous committee.
There are three female Secretary General (Deepthi Mary Varghese, K A Thulation, Alipatta Jameela) and two members of the Executive Committee, namely Padmaja Venugopal and Sona PR.
The list of KPCC’s secretaries has not been announced.
Sudhakanan said there would be more women’s representatives after the list of KPCC’s secretary was announced in 10 more days.
The source close to Sudhakanan said the high command made no change in the submitted list of KPCC nominations.
Sudhakanan expressed hope that the list would be welcome to all groups and parts.
“Even though the group is not a criterion to choose a leader, no one is issued because of their group affiliates.
I don’t think a senior leader will have a reason to go to the road by protesting the list of office carriers,” said Sudhakan.
The initial reaction from the I-Group, led by former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, was positive.
“We have sufficient representation.
This is not a bad deal for us,” said a source close to Chennithala.
The group leaders were not ready for direct reactions, but they were also not annoyed in the list.
Sudhakanan said the state unit had a plan to accommodate leaders left in the organizational rejig.
“None of the leaders who work against the prospect of UDF in the assembly election are considered for official posts,” he said.
All members of the Congress Work Committee and former KPCC President will become a permanent invitation to the Executive Committee.
All members of the Political Affairs Committee, MPS, MLAS, AICC Secretary of the President of DCC Kerala and Exit will be a special invitation to the Executive Committee, said the list.
