Nagpur: The fourth fraud in the last 18 days has been in the future in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) who lack money (NMC).
BJP City President Pravin Datke has accused the Civic’s body releasing multiple payments for one job to several contractors two years ago.
During the general body hours on Friday, Datke, also MLC and Corporator, said, “This is the main irregularity and spooting of public money.
NMC account and the finance department released several works to several contractors twice, which means multiple payments for One job.
NMC payments released to the contractor from the account at the Bank of Maharashtra.
It happened in Diwali 2019.
Bank of Maharashtra was a surprise to see the same amount melted twice on the same contractor.
Therefore, bank officials have written letters to NMC who informed about this case.
However, NMC does not restore the number of contractors even though it passes two years.
The request followed by actions must be taken against all relevant officials and the entire amount with interest must be restored from the contractor.
“However, the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari did not give a decision about the case this.
Datke said, “NMC gave several contracts to several contractors when VAT was in its place.
During the execution of works by the contractor, the system changed to GST.
NMC released payment to the contractor according to the GST.
It also causes financial losses to NMC.” On this matter , Tiwari directed the commissioner of Municipal Radhakrishnan B to form a committee, investigate and submit a report.
