Nagpur: Social worker from Bulldhana tried to end his life by consuming poisons in front of the residence of the Nitin Gadkari Minister at Wardha Road on Friday, but the police alert managed to thwart his offer.
Learned that Vijay Pawar, 55, had written a letter to Gadkari, highlighted the bleak road conditions in Maharashtra.
He also threatened to end his life if the minister did not respond to his complaint.
After the threat, the city police had deployed Bandobas outside Gadkari’s residence.

“He (pawar) tried to swallow some fluid but the police beat him before he could do anything, and took him to a medical college and a government hospital,” said a senior officer, added that the pawar will soon be dismissed.
