Chandrapur: In the assessment of landmarks against a very pollution super thermal power station (CSTP) here, the bench Pune Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Mahagenco to deposit compensation while RS5 Crore and took improvement steps to curb air, water and pollution Land within three months.

The bench has clearly warned that it would close the CSPP unit that polluted if the respondent failed to obey the direction, regardless of the prosecution.
Orders state that if the steps needed to prevent sustainable pollution not be taken within three months, CSTP will pay further compensation from RS1 Crore per month for the next three months.
If non-compliance continues to exceed six months, the combined committee can increase the amount of progressive compensation and / or operate pollution activities to compliance, regardless of prosecution.
The next court states that temporary compensation will be subject to final compensation assessed by the combined committee, after following the process.
The amount of compensation will be stored with MPCB to be used for the environmental recovery and health of the area.
The order also directs the combined committee to get a health impact assessment study for chandrapur carried out by coordinating with the main secretary, the Ministry of Health, or with the involvement of medical institutions or other experts.
In the light of the research, the plan must be prepared to remove victims and for improving health in the area.
Apart from the project in question, other projects in polluted areas must be asked to contribute to environmental improvement and public health in such proportions as can be found feasible and reasonable, NGT Order states.
Tribunal said the joint committee could meet in one month.
The Committee will be free to carry out online processes, except for visits to the site, and coordinate with authority or other experts or institutions, and interact with stakeholders.
