Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is eyeing an additional RS 40 Crore income every year through property taxes after rating the 1.60 lakh property in the city.
NMC has found 4.5 lakh properties in the city during the survey of all properties through a private agent about three years ago.
Among them, 1.60 lakh properties have excessive areas of the area registered in the Civic Agency Property Tax Department.
NMC imposes property taxes according to the property area.
The Civic’s body has lost income from Crores because this 1.60 lakh property has shown a lower area, NMC officials said.

“We will rejuvenate the property and repair additional property taxes every year on this property.
We expect more than RS 40 Crore income every year through this property,” NMC officials said.
The income of civilian bodies through property tax has been greatly affected for the past two years due to covid pandemics.
Initially, the NMC has set a property tax collection target of RS 160 Crore for the current financial year, but then he must limit the target to Rs 140 Crore due to a decrease in income due to covid pandemics.
In addition, the Civic body also introduced an amnesty scheme in three phases between August 15 and December 15 last year.
NMC restored a fine of 2% per month in tax contributions from the last day of paying taxes.
In addition, it also recovers notification costs and warrants issued for tax trimming.
In accordance with the amnesty scheme, to rebates up to 70% given to penalties to absent from their tax contributions during this period.
NMC collects tax contributions of RS 27 Crore through the Amnesty scheme.
